Not exactly what it says on the packet….?
In the last few years, LED bulbs have become rather fashionable. They are advertised as requiring less current to run, having a longer life, and as a direct replacement for existing filament bulbs. However, lots of people who try these LED bulbs are disappointed.

There is a rule-of-thumb that you get what you pay for. However, this does not appear to be the case with white LED bulbs, where you can pay top prices for a poor quality part. White LEDs are relatively new and quite expensive when compared to the original LED colours of red, yellow and green. When you look at the design and assembly, it's easy to believe that some LED bulbs are not made from the highest quality components.

Not all of the problems are with bulbs made of white LEDs. Some coloured LED bulbs do not give enough light, or disperse light wastefully. Do you really want to make your brake lights more difficult to see?

Haslemere Tuning Ltd does not currently manufacture LED bulbs in bulk, although an active ballast system is available in wholesale quantities. Custom LED bulbs and panels can be designed, and samples of previous devices are available in limited quantities.
